Buying a movie camera

A movie camera is expensive especially with the inclusion of the filter lens and the zoom lens as well. But some say that it is a good investment because your camera can take clearer videos and pictures. This issue bugs me because a nephew spent $4,000 for his movie camera to be used for video coverage. Now that we are in the pandemic era there are no events so the camera is just in the storage waiting to be obsolete.

I feel that with with so many advanced smartphones now in the market, movie cameras have become obsolete. Even many now avoid buying cameras, they use smartphones to take photos and videos. Its better to get a good quality, digital camera with high resolution, it is also enough to shoot good quality videos with good audio as well instead of investing so much money in a separate movie camera.
