Getting a second opinion matters

I used to believe that the doctor is an expert. But one time that belief vanished. My wife was diagnosed with kidney stones and she was prescribed for a biopsy of the kidney and an implant of stent. That did not sit well with me so we went to another urologist. This one prescribed an herbal pill to dissolve the kidney stone. After 2 weeks the ultrasound showed a reduced size. That was in 2006 and until now my wife is taking the herbal tea (not the pill anymore) with no more sign of the stone. Truly a second opinion can save you from potential disaster.

True, you should always consult another doctor to check if there would be a better option to the treatment that you were initially given. It can potentially save you a lot of money and hassle also, if you were able to avoid a major operation.
